Terms of service
Last updated 8 September 2026
The short version. We remove clutter from your interior photographs.
You keep every right to your photos and to what comes out. You pay in credits
that reset monthly: one credit a photo, two at 4K. We keep your files for seven days and then
delete them. And you must not use this to make a property look like something
it is not.
1. What InstaBrush does
InstaBrush produces a clean plate, a version of your photograph with
clutter removed, which you then brush into the original by hand in our editor.
The delivered photograph is mostly your original camera pixels, with the plate
showing through only where you painted it.
It is a tool for an editor to use, not an automatic service. What is removed,
what is kept, and what is delivered are your decisions.
2. Honest photographs
You may use InstaBrush to remove clutter: personal effects, rubbish,
laundry, toiletries, cables, pet bowls, and furniture that does not belong.
You may not use it to remove, hide, add or alter anything that would
materially misrepresent the property: damage, mould, stains, structural
problems, fixtures, appliances included in a sale, or anything a buyer or
tenant would reasonably want to know about.
Real estate marketing is regulated, and the rules differ by state and country.
Complying with them is your responsibility, including any duty to disclose that
a photograph has been digitally altered. We provide a disclosure label you can
stamp onto delivered photographs; whether you need it, and what it must say, is
for you to determine.
We may suspend an account we believe is being used to misrepresent property.
3. Your photographs stay yours
What we hold, who else touches it and for how long is set out in full on the
privacy page. This section is the promise; that
page is the detail.
You keep all rights in the photographs you upload and in everything InstaBrush
produces from them. We claim no ownership of either.
You grant us a limited licence to store, transmit and process your photographs
for one purpose only: providing this service to you. That licence ends when the
files are deleted. We do not use your photographs to train models, we do not show
them to anyone, and we do not sell them or give them to anyone except the
processors named below.
You confirm you have the right to upload each photograph and to have it
altered, meaning you took it, commissioned it, or otherwise hold the necessary
permission.
4. We do not build the AI
InstaBrush owns no AI model and trains none. We are a tool built
around models made by other people. Two of them do the work:
Gemini 3.1 Pro looks at your photograph and lists what it thinks is
clutter. Nano Banana Pro makes the clean plate. Both are Google models,
reached through the providers below.
What those models produce is not something we control. We write the
instructions given to them and we choose which to use, but we cannot guarantee a
particular result, and we are not responsible for how a model behaves. If a model
is withdrawn, changed or repriced by its owner, we may have to change what we
use, including mid-subscription.
5. Who else sees your photographs
Making a clean plate means sending your photograph to whichever provider is
running the model. We currently use kie.ai and fal.ai, and may
change providers. Your photographs are transmitted to whichever one handles the
request, and are subject to that provider's own terms while they hold them.
Files at rest are stored with Cloudflare R2. Account records are stored
with Neon. Payments are handled by Stripe, who receive your billing
details directly, and we never see or store your card.
If your photographs contain anything you are not permitted to send to a
third-party processor, do not upload them.
6. What we keep, and for how long
- Photographs, plates and your brushwork: seven days, then deleted
automatically. That window exists so you can pick a shoot up again without
paying for it twice.
- Originals are stored at up to 50MB each. Anything larger is scaled down
before storing, so a shoot reopened later may deliver smaller than one
finished the same day.
- Records of what was run, meaning filenames, dates, counts and costs,
are kept while your account exists, because they are your billing history.
- We keep no copy after the seven days. If you need a photograph, download
it.
7. Credits and billing
- One credit is one photo: a look at it, and a clean plate made.
- Credits reset every month. They do not roll over, so a month you
barely use is not banked against a month you hammer.
- 4K uses two credits, because it costs twice as much to make. 2K and
1K use one.
- A re-render costs the same as a first render. It is another photo
made, not a correction of one.
- Nothing is charged for a photo that fails. The credit is held when a
photo starts and only spent when a plate arrives.
- Cancel whenever. Billing is Stripe's, and so is the page you cancel
on. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund the current period,
and your photos remain available until that period ends.
- Moving up a plan charges the new plan in full and starts your month
again. The credits you have carry over and the new plan's whole
allowance is added on top, so for that first month you hold both. Your
renewal date moves to the day you upgraded, and from the month after that
your credits reset to the new plan's number like any other month.
- Moving down a plan takes effect at your next renewal, not
straight away. You finish the month you have paid for on the plan you are
on, keeping those credits, and the smaller plan begins when that month
ends. Nothing is charged or refunded in between.
- Prices may change. Existing subscribers get notice before a change takes
effect, and can cancel instead.
- Credits we add to your account by hand stay until you use them.
Those are apologies and goodwill, not part of a plan, so the monthly reset
leaves them alone — your plan's credits are spent first and these last.
Cancelling your subscription does clear them, along with everything else.
- A single shoot holds up to 100 photographs. Larger jobs are split across
more than one shoot, which costs nothing extra: shoots are served in the
order they were submitted, and a cap on the longest one is what keeps the
wait behind it predictable for everybody.
8. What a credit buys can change
Your plan is a number of credits a month, not a number of photographs.
The standard rate is two credits for a photo at 1K or 2K and four credits at
4K. Launch pricing takes 50% off every rate, so today a 1K or 2K photo
costs one credit and a 4K photo costs two. That rate can change, and nothing
on this site should be read as promising a particular number of photographs
for a particular price.
The models are not ours and neither is what they cost. We buy capacity from
the providers named above, at prices they set and can change without asking us.
If what a render costs us moves, what a render costs in credits may have to move
with it. Our own prices may also change as the service does.
- Credits already in your account keep the rate they were granted at
for the rest of that month. A change announced today does not reprice what
you have already paid for.
- A change to the credit rate takes effect at your next renewal, and
we will tell you before it does, by email or in the app or both.
- You can cancel instead. If a new rate does not suit you, cancelling
before your renewal costs you nothing and you keep the credits you have
until the period ends.
- Rarely, we may have to move faster. If a provider changes its prices
or its terms abruptly, or withdraws a model, we may change the credit rate
within a period. We would tell you at the time and explain why, and you
could cancel and be refunded the unused part of that period.
Every figure given anywhere on this site, whether a plan's credits, what a
photo costs in credits, or an estimate before a run, describes the rate in
force at that moment. It is not a commitment for future months.
9. Refunds
Credits already spent are not refundable. The work has been done and paid for
on our side. If something goes wrong that is our fault, tell us and we will put it
right, usually by returning the credits.
If you dispute a charge with your bank rather than contacting us, we may
suspend the account while it is resolved.
10. Fair use
Do not share an account between organisations, resell access, attempt to work
around credit limits, or run automated traffic against the service beyond normal
use of the app. Do not upload anything unlawful.
Accounts are for the business that signed up. We may suspend or close an
account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why.
11. This is beta software
InstaBrush is in active development. Features change, and it will sometimes be
unavailable. We do not offer an uptime guarantee, a support response time, or a
promise that any particular result is achievable on any particular photograph.
Generative models are unpredictable. A plate may be wrong, and the editor
exists precisely so a human checks every one before it is delivered. Review
every photograph before you send it to a client. We are not responsible for a
photograph you delivered without looking at it.
11a. What this needs from your computer
The clean plates are made on our side, but the brushing and the packaging
happen in your browser. That makes the machine you use worth a sentence.
Comfortable: a current Chrome or Edge, 16GB of memory, and 20GB or so of free
disk. It works on less — 8GB and 5GB free is fine — it is simply slower, and a
shoot may arrive as two or three ZIP files instead of one, because a browser
only lets a site use a share of the space you have free. Firefox and Safari 17
and later work too.
Packaging a photograph takes a second or two, almost all of it the JPEG
encode, which no browser does in parallel. A thirty-photo shoot is about a
minute on a fast machine and a few minutes on a slow one.
A slow computer cannot cost you credits. A credit is spent when a
clean plate comes back from the model. Everything after that — brushing,
re-rendering the layers, packaging, downloading — is work your own browser does
on a photograph you have already paid for, and you can do it as many times as
you like for nothing. If your browser runs out of room, or the tab closes, or
a download fails, open the shoot again from your listings and start the
download over. If a photograph never reaches you at all, the credit goes back
by itself.
12. Liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent
the law allows. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost data, or
any indirect or consequential loss.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in
the three months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully
be limited.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the
app before they take effect, and continuing to use the service afterwards means
accepting them. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
14. Ending it
You can cancel at any time through the billing portal, and delete your account
by asking us. We will delete your account records within 30 days, except anything
we are required to keep for tax or accounting.
We may close an account for a breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if we
stop offering the service, in which case we will refund any unused portion of a
period already paid for.
15. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, United States,
and disputes go to the courts there.
